Meet Dannic

Dannic, the prodigious DJ and producer from Breda in the Netherlands – the hometown of Tiësto and Hardwell – is a name synonymous with Dutch dance, cementing himself as a go-to name that delivers within the worlds of both a big-room signature sound, as well as a true-to-form exploration of deeper, grooving house. Dannic burst onto the scene through the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll, placing 5 years in a row. This, along with Dannic’s standalone, high-quality productions, long withstanding fanbase and outstanding DJ sets, confirmed to tastemakers, the industry and beyond, that Dannic remains a driving force within the scene. Dannic’s long-running stance behind the radio airwaves including his globally-syndicated Fonk Radio venture, also demonstrates a producer that is well and truly tapped into the most vital and important industry trends that appeal to his ever-expanding audience.

From his debut releases on world-class labels including Toolroom and a venerable relationship with Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings before the launch of his hugely-praised Fonk Recordings, Dannic’s constant output of dance floor-ready bangers and groove-laden productions continues to excite across live shows globally, as well as productions that set alight the biggest mainstage sets. Seeing the Dannic sound grace the stages of Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Miami Music Week, ULTRA, EDC, Parookaville plus many more alongside the launch of Fonk – Dannic has reflected and refined his musical flair from every angle. From sourcing Demos, A&R’ing, design and production, the first release through Fonk Recordings, ‘Funky Time’, was supported by industry stars Axwell Λ Ingrosso and David Guetta, as a swathe of Top 10 releases year on year via the imprint has gone on to signify its cult and club-loving status, Fonk Recordings also hosted another sold-out showcase party of label family and friends during the Amsterdam Dance Event in October – a feat Dannic has now succeeded in elevating three years on the run, as well as playing a whole host of the city’s arenas, underground clubs and boat parties. As over 400,000 music-lovers descended onto the city, all of these components proved the perfect catalyst to propel Dannic and the future of Fonk Recordings into its next exciting chapter.

After a slew of impressive dates across major swathes of the globe including the USA, Europe, South America, The Middle East and beyond, Dannic also returned to Tomorrowland, EDC, Ushuaïa Ibiza, threw down sets at the World’s Largest Club Germany’s World Club Dome and played numerous, extensive and exclusive residencies at Hakkasan and Drai’s in Vegas, as well as Tokyo’s luxurious DiA. Dannic has also performed a career stand-out set during the final ‘I Am Hardwell: United We Are’ show at Germany’s Hockenheim – marking the first show that DJs had ever performed at the racing track, as well as stops that included the iconic Madison Sq Gardens – but taking his sound to his fans live is one thing, immersing them wherever they are in the world is another.

With his live performances gaining unmissable status, it is clear to see that his vast studio outputs appear just as prolific as his unrelenting live schedule is interspersed with huge dates across the globe, his high-quality audio weaponry only adding another string to his bow. Take anthems ‘Feel Your Love’, ‘Light The Sky’ and big-hitter on Maxximize with ‘Noise’, that also shot to #1 on Beatport – oh, and let’s not forget his 6 epic Beatport Top 10’s and 9 Top 10 Big Room releases in 2018, including collabs with Thomas Newson and INNA. A stand-out release in his career and a personal highlight for Dannic includes a collaboration with musical hero and dance aficionado Fedde Le Grand on ‘Coco’s Miracle’ that dazzled fans everywhere and initiated his exclusive global signing to Spinnin’ Records, an industry leader across dance genres. An avalanche of solo releases including ‘Tenderlove’ and ‘Tell Me (If You Really Love Me)’ followed and signalled Dannic’s true-to-form exploration of deeper house and funky sounds, as well as a huge and heavy remix for Cash Cash; Dannic’s music has been supported by everyone from Afrojack to Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Martin Garrix to R3hab, as he treads a party-poised cocktail of radio-friendly anthems and darker club hits.

Continuing to champion Fonk Recordings with both solo releases – take the big-room delights of ‘Whip’, for instance – and a plethora of VA EP’s including the ‘Summer EP’ for 2019, Dannic also released his long-awaited collaboration with Hardwell – ‘Chase The Sun’ feat Kelli-Leigh – that shot to #2 in the Beartport Big Room chart, taking his total to 4 x Top 5 and 6 x Top 10’s in 2019 alone. Across the board, Dannic’s prowess shows no musical bounds but projects the forces of which his sounds continue to satisfy both old and new school fan cravings, his musical passion underpinning his every move as a DJ for the people, weather this be his noteworthy peers passing praise or his millions of fans around the globe connecting both in the flesh and via a plethora of digital mediums; the scene waits with bated breath for the next move of this shining Breda producer…
